The hotel’s owner, Louis Li, chose this name to reflect his vision of creating a unique space where art, design, and hospitality meet.
The hotel’s modern architecture and artistic interiors reflect this theme. The name “Jackalope” captures the spirit of creativity and curiosity, inviting guests to explore a place where fiction and reality blend. This focus on storytelling makes the Jackalope Hotel a unique destination, enhancing the appeal of its luxurious accommodations and scenic location on the Mornington Peninsula.
We arrived in the afternoon and immediately noticed the impressive architecture. The hotel’s exterior is a striking contrast against the lush, green vineyards. The hotel continues this theme with dark, sophisticated decor and fascinating artwork inside.
The check-in process was smooth, and the staff greeted us warmly. The lobby combined contemporary design with luxury, creating an opulent and welcoming atmosphere.
Jackalope features two main dining options, Doot Doot Doot and Rare Hare.
The hotel also included a complimentary wine tasting at its cellar door as part of our room rate, which was a fantastic way to sample its wines.

The staff at Jackalope were friendly and professional. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and ensured we had everything we needed. Each staff member was knowledgeable about the hotel and its services.
Although the hotel is expensive, the luxurious experience, exceptional service, and unique offerings made it worth the cost. The quality of the amenities and the attention to detail were outstanding. Jackalope offers a unique blend of modern luxury and natural beauty that sets it apart from other luxury hotels.
