Moulin Rouge – A Photo Gallery

Posted In: France
The Moulin Rouge in an iconic Paris show. We booked for the show only and not the dinner. It was still daylight when we arrived but it’s not until after dark that the building lights up with the neon lights.  You cannot take photos of the show. The show itself was a good show with the exception of it using animals. I am very anti the use of animals for shows. They brought out miniature horses for one part and they have a pool with pythons which a women is “thrown” into. The pythons were not moving and the woman[...]

We spent a day at the Louvre.  If you are planning a trip to the Louvre, you need to understand that it is large and takes time to be able to see everything.  My tips are, if you don't have much time, before you go, work out which exhibits you want to visit and make your way to them.  If you have more time, take a map and work your[...]

Paris from the Eiffel Tower – A Photo Gallery

The Eiffel Tower is such an iconic image of Paris, that there are so many photographs of this beautiful structure.  However what is also as impressive is the stunning view you get when you go to the top. The tower is 324 metres tall which is the equivalent of an 81 storey building. There are three levels that you can view the city from.  There are restaurants on the first and second levels.  The main observation deck is the upper platform at 276 metres.   The first day we went to the Eiffel[...]

Trocadero Gardens The Trocadero Gardens is located on the opposite side of the Seine to the Eiffel Tower.  It provides great views of the Eiffel Tower.  However, it can be really busy with tourists and there are a lot of hawkers there selling cheap trinkets. The gardens consi[...]
